Klein Forest hasn't had much luck against Klein Collins recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Klein Forest has given up an average of 42 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-22, which was the final score in Klein Forest's tilt against Klein Cain last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 147th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was James Robinson, who rushed for 104 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 135 yards and one touchdown. Dejaune Etheridge was another key rusher, rushing for 84 yards and a pair of TDs.
Meanwhile, Klein Collins entered their tilt with Klein Cain on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-10 win over the Hurricanes. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Klein Forest better focus on containing Da'Marcus Jones and Braydon Schoggin as the pair were huge in Klein Collins' win. Jones rushed for 129 yards and one score, while Schoggin rushed for 50 yards and one touchdown. Those 129 rushing yards gave Jones a new career-high. Alex Kaiser got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Klein Collins was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 338 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Klein Collins, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kaiser, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Klein Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Klein Collins, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Klein Forest has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 384.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Klein Collins struggles in that department as they've been averaging 421.1 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Klein Forest lost to Klein Collins on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Schoggin, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
