South Tahoe and the Wolverines are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The South Tahoe Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Truckee Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
South Tahoe put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wooster 60-27 on the road. South Tahoe pushed the score to 52-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colts had little chance of recovering from.
South Tahoe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Robinson, who scored 13 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Mathews, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Truckee was beaten by the Panthers 64-6 on Friday. Truckee has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
South Tahoe has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Truckee, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Everything went South Tahoe's way against the Wolverines in their previous meeting last Wednesday as the Vikings made off with a 60-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Tahoe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
