The Central Lancers will look to defend their home court on Friday against Masterman at 3:15 p.m. Central will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Central had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against the Pumas.
Despite the defeat, Central had strong showings from Sofia Meer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Jayda Wright, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Wright is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Lucy Shaw, who scored three points along with three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Masterman gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by John Bartram on the road to the tune of 72-40. Masterman's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jocelyn Goldstein was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Masterman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Brunelli, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Masterman, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
