East Jackson had lost eight straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-16 to make it nine. They came up short against the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines, falling 19-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.
East Jackson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
As for Prince Avenue Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Prince Avenue Christian's side, Cole Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Cole Broxton was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Prince Avenue Christian is undefeated when Broxton posts one or more home runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Will Holiday, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
While East Jackson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
