Milpitas is on a eight-game streak of home wins, while Santa Clara is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Milpitas Trojans will take on the Santa Clara Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Milpitas took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 56-27 victory over Wilcox. Given Milpitas' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Wilcox is ranked 926th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milpitas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennalyn David, who scored seven points along with seven steals. David has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Jasleen Dhaliwal was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Santa Clara didn't have too much trouble with Wilcox at home on Wednesday as they won 40-25.
Milpitas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Santa Clara, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
Milpitas didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Santa Clara when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. Does Milpitas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Clara turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
