Softball Recap: York Wins Going Away Against Fairbury

York won the last time they faced Fairbury and things went their way on Saturday too. The Dukes were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Jeffs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ayanna Miller and Avery Albers did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Albers went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Miller has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andi Winterrowd, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

York always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairbury only posted an OBP of .200.

York now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fairbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, York and Fairbury will both be playing Cozad the next time they take the field. The Dukes will head out to face the Haymakers at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, while the Jeffs will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
