The Pine-Richland Rams lost against the Norwin Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Pine-Richland fell to the Knights 50-44. While losing is never fun, Pine-Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Knights are ranked ninth).
When it comes to explaining why Pine-Richland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Zavasky. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Catherine Gentile was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Pine-Richland's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12. As for Norwin, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Pine-Richland will head out on the road to take on the Golden Tornado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Butler and the Rams are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Norwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
