Jacob Wicker was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Yencho, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Lincoln Adams was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Laguna Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laguna Hills. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Micah Von Dem Bussche was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
Laguna Beach's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
Laguna Beach got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against University by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Breakers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
