The Jefferson Democrats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 52-15 loss at the hands of Diego Rivera. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Jefferson has suffered yet this season.
Diego Rivera was led to victory by Brianna Collins and Desiree Aguillon. Collins dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and 13 steals, while Aguillon dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aguillon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bridgette Jimenez, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Diego Rivera, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Manual Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Diego Rivera won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Santee at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th. Santee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
