The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos will be playing at home against the Placer Hillmen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Twelve Bridges suffered a rough 72-47 loss at the hands of Granite Bay. While losing is never fun, Twelve Bridges can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Granite Bay is ranked 263rd).
Despite the loss, Twelve Bridges had strong showings from Jaida Esparza, who scored 14 points, and Mia DeMatteis, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals. DeMatteis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Aly Demere was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, Placer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-45 to Fall River. Placer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Campus' victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Twelve Bridges' defeat dropped theirs to 3-1.
Twelve Bridges might still be hurting after the 50-27 loss they got from Placer when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Twelve Bridges avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
