Colusa has gone a perfect 10-0 against East Nicolaus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The RedHawks will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m.
Colusa blew Vacaville Christian out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Vacaville Christian got their revenge. The RedHawks fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-2. The RedHawks' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Kane Nall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, East Nicolaus got the win against Paradise on Friday by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashton Wong was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wong was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Logan Cleary and Braden Hardwick did most of the damage at the plate: Cleary went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hardwick went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. East Nicolaus is undefeated when Hardwick posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Mikey Robbins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
East Nicolaus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise only posted a batting average of .250.
The win made it two in a row for East Nicolaus and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Colusa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Colusa was able to grind out a solid win over East Nicolaus when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the RedHawks repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
