The Washington Huskies gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Livermore 58-18 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Washington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordyn Yamaguchi led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 5 steals. Mikaela Dumagan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 4 steals.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Livermore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Washington won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arroyo at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Arroyo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. As for Livermore, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
