The Fillmore Flashes will face off against the Hueneme Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fillmore gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Malibu 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flashes.

Thomas Alamillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Fillmore is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Fillmore's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Rincon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Rincon is becoming a predictor of the Flashes' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-13 when he doesn't). Joseph Alamillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Hueneme entered their tilt with Nordhoff on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 15-7 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Rey Bibiano was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Allan Rodriguez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Akira Tamura was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Hueneme always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nordhoff only posted an OBP of .294.
Hueneme's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fillmore, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Fillmore couldn't quite get it done against Hueneme when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Flashes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
