Kelliher/Northome extended the longest winning streak in Great Northern (9 Man) this week by beating Onamia, 26-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
McGregor was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in the league. The Mercuries defeated Cromwell 44-41 earlier in the week.
Andrew Demenge was a beast in the backfield as McGregor defeated the Cardinals.
Demenge provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bob Staska's team topped Cromwell.
Demenge was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 225 yards on 22 carries as the Mercuries fell to the Mercuries. Auston Anderson also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.
The Cardinals' Zion Smith and Tristan Johnson have formed a dream team this season, leading Great Northern (9 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 466 yards this season, while Johnson has 12 catches for 245 yards. Demenge from McGregor leads the league in rushing with 931 yards.
Demenge of the the Mercuries is only 69 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 122 carries Demenge has accumulated 931 yard this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Kelliher/Northome takes on Hill City. Derrick Gross' team is currently in first, while the Hornets are in fifth.
Nevis took down Lake of the Woods/Indus 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
