Scholars Guild Academy has won 14 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while New Creation Christian Academy has won 14 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Spartans will welcome the Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. One thing working in Scholars Guild Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
On Thursday, Scholars Guild Academy made easy work of North Georgia HomeSchool and carried off a 10-1 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Henry Rumble and Will Pittman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rumble struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Pittman didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Rumble got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Pittman went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Pittman has become a key player for Scholars Guild Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sebastian Kenny, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justin Whitfield, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI.
CrossPointe Christian Academy hit New Creation Christian Academy with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers.
Nolan Hyde and Luke Robinson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hyde went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Robinson went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Anderson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Scholars Guild Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for New Creation Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Scholars Guild Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like New Creation Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Scholars Guild Academy's way against New Creation Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March, as Scholars Guild Academy made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
