The Frederick Cadets will head out on the road to challenge the Urbana Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Frederick put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They came out on top against Tuscarora by a score of 42-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory continues a trend for the Cadets in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won seven in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frederick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miles Robinson, who rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 105 yards and one TD. Travis Schmidt was in the mix as well, providing the Cadets with two scores.
Frederick didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Tuscarora to a completion percentage of just 27.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Paul Huff, Ethan Morris, and Ronte Faunteroy, who each logged two passes deflected. Frederick wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.
Frederick's defense didn't let Landon Rosenberg, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Rondell Faunteroy with two.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Urbana's strategy against Governor Thomas Johnson on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hawks blew the Patriots out of the water with a 48-7 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
Urbana's win came from a few key players Frederick will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chase Kramer, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Joshua White, who rushed for 21 yards and two touchdowns.
The win got Frederick back to even at 3-3. As for Urbana, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Frederick against Urbana when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-12 win. In that game, the Cadets amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
