After flying high against the Newark Yellowjackets last Thursday, the Glasgow Dragons came back down to earth. Glasgow took a 81-62 bruising from the Bulldogs on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), Glasgow still had to take the loss.
Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher Saunders, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saunders has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahsir Robertson, who scored 22 points.
Simon Gratz's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jabrelle Dennison, who scored 30 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dennison has scored at least a third of Simon Gratz's points. Another player making a difference was Sihaaj Johnson, who scored 25 points.
Glasgow's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Simon Gratz, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glasgow will face off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Brandywine is ranked 29th, while the Dragons are ranked 32nd). As for Simon Gratz, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
