After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marion, Centralia was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Farina South Central Cougars as they made off with a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Orphans, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Centralia got a big performance out of Keagan Burleyson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Burleyson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie Goewey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

With the victory, Centralia broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11. As for Farina South Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Centralia and Farina South Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Orphans will face off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (281 vs. 129). Meanwhile, Farina South Central (ranked 441st) will meet Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg (ranked 177th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
