Oceanside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nalia Nuanez, who scored 11 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Kaye, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Among those leading the charge was Averi Kwok, who scored nine points along with two steals. Grace Trusso was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 15 rebounds.
Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Torrey Pines, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season.
Oceanside will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlsbad at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Carlsbad is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Oceanside will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Torrey Pines, they will take on La Costa Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Torrey Pines focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
