Coventry Christian have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Quakertown Christian 34-31. For Coventry Christian, this counts as revenge for the 41-34 loss Quakertown Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Coventry Christian found their leader in underclassman Caitlin Cianci, who scored 13 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Cianci has scored at least a third of Coventry Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Anika Wagner, who scored seven points.
Coventry Christian's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Quakertown Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Coventry Christian will face off against Clearfield Alliance Christian at TBD on Friday. Quakertown Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
