The Esparto Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They suffered a tough 48-26 defeat at the hands of Golden Sierra. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Esparto in their matchups with Golden Sierra: they've now lost six in a row.
Golden Sierra found their leader in underclassman Skyler Tory, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and six steals. Tory hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for eight straight games.
Esparto dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Golden Sierra, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.
Esparto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Golden Sierra also has no future games currently scheduled.
