St. Thomas Academy had won three straight games and Dominic Baez did his part to make it four on Friday. The Cadets took down the Chanhassen Storm 28-13 with plenty of help from Baez, who rushed for 160 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries, and also caught one touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
St. Thomas Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Chanhassen, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
St. Thomas Academy and Chanhassen should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Cadets (ranked ninth) will meet Apple Valley (ranked 127th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Chanhassen will square off against Mankato East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (1 vs. 35).
