With a playoff win on the line, Oakland Tech rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Oakland Wildcats with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Elijah Rucker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Burton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Oakland Tech is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Oakland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

As of now, neither Oakland Tech nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
