TexasHSFootball.com is among the media outlets reporting that the Prosper Independent School District has proposed a bond that could result in the most expensive high school football stadium ever built. The $2.8 billion package includes $94 million for the stadium.
The proposed 8,000-seat stadium would be built in addition to the Children's Health Stadium opened in 2019 by the district for $48 million.
The fast-growing district, which already serves
Prosper,
Rock Hill (Frisco) and
Walnut Grove (Prosper), is reported to enroll as many as 3,000 new students annually, according to TexasHSFootball.com.

The new stadium would be built at Richland High School, set to open in 2025.
The story says the district had three campuses and a few hundred students in 2002 while now serving 28,000 students in 25 buildings.
The bond, which goes to voters on Nov. 7, would not increase tax rates according to the district.
The state of Texas is home to some of high school football's grand palaces as five facilities top the $45 million mark.
The top five most expensive stadiums include:
• Cy-Fair FCU Stadium at Berry Center — $80 million; 11,000 seats serving Cy-Fair ISD schools
• Legacy Stadium — $72 million, 12,000 seats serving Katy ISD schools
• McKinney Stadium — $70 million, 12,000 seats serving McKinney ISD schools
• Eagle Stadium — $60 million, 18,000 seats serving Allen ISD schools
• Woodforest Bank Stadium — $49 million, 10,000 seats serving Conroe ISD schools
