The San Marcos Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 66-39 loss at the hands of Del Norte. San Marcos has not had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Bailey Barnhard was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds for Del Norte. That makes it five consecutive games in which Barnhard has scored at least a third of Del Norte's points. Addison Cottle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
San Marcos dropped their record down to 11-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Del Norte, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season.
San Marcos will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Westview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in California (the Wolverines are ranked 93rd, while the Knights are ranked 406th). Del Norte will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
