Montgomery extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Analy Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-0 loss on Wednesday.
Ryder Dienhart put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Thomas Coleman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Montgomery's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). Justin Howard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Analy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.
On Analy's side, Jack Beiswenger looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Sonny Quatannens, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery will take on St. Vincent de Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Analy, they will face off against Santa Rosa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.09 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
