Volleyball Recap: Metamora Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Metamora's tournament run continued when they took on Lincoln-Way West on Saturday. The Redbirds narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Metamora who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 21-25, 15-9.

Loss or not, Lincoln-Way West got some senior leadership from Sophia Rozga and Claire Murphy. Rozga had 20 digs and one assist, while Murphy had 24 assists and five digs. Those 24 assists set a new season-high mark for Murphy.

Metamora pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lincoln-Way West, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Metamora wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln-Way East on the 30th. As for Lincoln-Way West, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Barrington on the 30th.
