The Design Tech Dragons won the last time they faced The Nueva School Mavericks, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Design Tech came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 41-31.
Jewel Wilson was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Design Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eve Casile, who scored ten points.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Siana Kapoor, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Kapoor hasn't dropped below two blocks for 11 straight games. Anjali Mariathasan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
The victory got Design Tech back to even at 7-7. As for The Nueva School, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Design Tech is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st. San Francisco Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for The Nueva School, they and the Black Bears will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
