Cartersville barely beat Calhoun the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hurricanes put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 13-1 win on Tuesday. Zoie Shiflett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Kennedy Crenshaw was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Harper, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Cartersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calhoun only posted a batting average of .167.

Cartersville will host Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calhoun, they will head out on the road to challenge Adairsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
