The Maplewood Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hickory Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hickory took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Maplewood, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maplewood beat Cochranton 36-30.
Hickory suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 43-20 walloping at the hands of Fairview. While losing is never fun, Hickory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Fairview is ranked 144th).
Maplewood pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.53 points. As for Hickory, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
