The Hackensack Comets will head out to square off against the Paramus Catholic Knght Paladins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hackensack is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Hackensack came up short against Midland Park and fell 8-5.

Darius Pemberton made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Hackensack: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-13-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jose Urena, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Paramus Catholic earned a 4-1 win over Ridgefield Park on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Knght Paladins in their matchups with the Scarlets: they've now won five in a row.
Christian Figueroa looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
At the plate, Tillman Schroeder was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanni Latino, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Paramus Catholic's record now sits at 13-10. As for Hackensack, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-1.
Hackensack skirted past Paramus Catholic 2-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Knght Paladins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
