Normal Community extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 4-2. They blew past the Prattville Lions 14-4. With that victory, the Ironmen brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Lucas Beaty made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Josh Jones looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits.

Back at the plate, Beckett Weber and Andrew Naour did most of the damage at the plate: Weber went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Naour went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave Naour a new career-high. Max Heineman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Normal Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prattville struck out eight times.
As for Prattville, they moved to 20-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.
On Prattville's side, Christian Alexander made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Looking ahead, Normal Community will host Yorkville at 6:00 p.m. on April 2. As for Prattville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 defeat against Winfield on the 25th.
