Mira Mesa has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lincoln Hornets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mira Mesa is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in California (the Marauders are ranked 411th, while the Hornets are ranked 1186th).
Last Friday, Mira Mesa got the win against the Centurions by a conclusive 54-31.
Ivorii Seals was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Otero, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lincoln, who are still winless after their 20th match. They took a hard 45-31 fall against Point Loma on Friday. Lincoln was down 37-11 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Mira Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-20.
Everything came up roses for Mira Mesa against the Hornets in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 64-24 victory. Does Mira Mesa have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
