Softball Recap: Northgate Wins Going Away Against Mcintosh

Northgate's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the McIntosh Chiefs as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Journey Jackson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Hargrett, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Northgate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McIntosh only posted an OBP of .273.

Northgate's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for McIntosh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northgate will square off against Ola at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McIntosh, they will face off against Whitewater at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
