The Canyon Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Orange Lutheran Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Lancers are ranked 28th).
After a string of four wins, Canyon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 65-48 fall against Hart. Canyon found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Canyon saw an underclassman step up: Isabella Escribano scored 20 points. Josie Regez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Orange Lutheran over the Royals in every quarter on their way to victory last Monday. Everything went Orange Lutheran's way against the Royals as the Lancers made off with a 65-45 win. The win was familiar territory for Orange Lutheran who now have three in a row.
Canyon's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-13. As for Orange Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
