Novinger hasn't had much luck against Scotland County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will take on the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Novinger has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Novinger took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Atlanta, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets last Friday, sneaking past 15-14. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Mikayla McKim spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and 11 unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.7 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Avery Carter was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Isabella White was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Scotland County faced off against Highland on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 22-11. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.
Kenzington Miller made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Makenna Musgrove, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Scotland County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Novinger, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Scotland County's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Novinger has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Scotland County, though, as they've been averaging only 2.4 strikeouts. Will Novinger keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Novinger might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Scotland County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
