The Escondido Charter Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Orange Glen Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Escondido Charter will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Escondido Charter's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Calvin Christian with a sharp 22-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Sam Romero made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Curtis Williams and Silas Telfer did most of the damage at the plate: Williams got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Telfer went 1-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joey Seavello, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Escondido Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvin Christian only posted a batting average of .095.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orange Glen, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Army-Navy 10-4 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Nicki Cardenas, who got on base in four of his seven plate appearances with two runs. Orange Glen is undefeated when Cardenas posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Adrian Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run and one double.
Escondido Charter pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.9 runs over those games. As for Orange Glen, their record is now 8-9.
Orange Glen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Escondido Charter has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Orange Glen, though, as they've been averaging 10.9 hits. Given Escondido Charter's sizable advantage in that area, the Patriots will need to find a way to close that gap.
Escondido Charter took their win against Orange Glen in their previous meeting on April 4th by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
