The Granite Hills Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They strolled past San Diego with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. For Granite Hills, this counts as revenge for the 36-33 defeat San Diego walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Granite Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kerstena Tomika, who scored 16 points. Tomika has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Khaley Kaesser was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Several Cavers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shanti Glenn, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Glenn hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lara Saucedo, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Granite Hills' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for San Diego, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite Hills won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Mount Miguel is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. San Diego will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against University City at 6:15 p.m. on January 16th.
