The South East Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-33 loss at the hands of Legacy. South East lost against Legacy in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-41 score last time.
Legacy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Casillas led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Casillas has scored at least 25% of Legacy's points. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Tostado, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
South East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Legacy, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South East will challenge South Gate at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (South Gate is ranked 1064th, while South East is ranked 1084th). As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
