There's no place like home for Hughson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Hilmar Yellowjackets by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets on Wednesday, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Bryce McDaniel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Beau Blake, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Andrew Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Hughson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hilmar, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-3.

Coming up, Hughson will head out on the road to challenge Soquel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hilmar, they will be playing at home against Ripon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
