On Thursday, Westlake Charter was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-32 to Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning. Westlake Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westlake Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mika Binger, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Chigozie Igwegbe, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Westlake Charter has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0-1.
Westlake Charter is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning will be home for the holidays to greet Foresthill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
