Basketball Recap: Livingston Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Livingston entered their match against Ceres on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Livingston Wolves came up short against the Ceres Bulldogs, falling 40-19. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Loss or not, Livingston got some senior leadership from Elizabeth Avila and Kasandra Soria. Avila posted eight points and four steals, while Soria put up six points and six rebounds. Avila has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played.

Lilly Staggs was the offensive standout of the match as she had 18 points. Another player making a difference was Sovannary Carter, who posted eight points.

Livingston's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for Ceres, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston and Merced will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Ceres, they will host Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. Ceres will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
