Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a blow against the Valley Christian Warriors, falling 69-35.

Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Jannah Davis and Aliyah Escalera. Davis posted 14 points and three steals, while Escalera shot 56% from the field en route to 11 points. Escalera is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Valley Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-31 victory against Foothill on the 8th. As for Valley Christian, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Los Gatos at 6:30 p.m. on the 19th.
