Sierra is 8-2 against Oakdale since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Sierra Timberwolves will be playing at home against the Oakdale Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Sierra was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to East Union. While losing is never fun, Sierra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while East Union is ranked 129th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mya Everett, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. Abigail Chapman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Oakdale suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Kimball 64-19. Oakdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Sierra has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Oakdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
