The Humble Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Beaumont United 96-50. Humble has not had much luck with Beaumont United recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leading Beaumont United to victory were Weston Davis and Clarence Payia. Davis dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Payia dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Payia continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Daniel Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Humble has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 18 of their last 19 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season. As for Beaumont United, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-3.
Humble will head out on the road to take on King at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Humble will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 591st, while King is ranked 40th). As for Beaumont United, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Shore at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Beaumont United focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Wednesday.
