Benson extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the Omaha Central Eagles, falling 17-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bunnies of the 18-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
Jhelen Suarez Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eryanna Marshall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Omaha Central, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Considering they have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Omaha Central's side, Edie Titus made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Titus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Katelyn McClure and Lily Jaramillo did most of the damage at the plate: McClure went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Jaramillo went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Jaramillo a new career-high. Nichole Palfini was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benson will challenge Duchesne/Roncalli at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Omaha Central, they will head out to challenge Millard South at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
