With a playoff game on the line, the West Philadelphia Speedboys rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They took down the HOYAS 53-35. The victory was familiar territory for West Philadelphia who now have 12 in a row.
West Philadelphia was led to victory by Naeemiah Bridgeford and Victoria Williams. Bridgeford scored 15 points along with five steals, while Williams scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Bridgeford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Badji Tall, who scored four points.
West Philadelphia pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Parkway West, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.
West Philadelphia will head out on the road to challenge Parkway Center City at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Philadelphia is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkway Center City in Pennsylvania (West Philadelphia is ranked 181st, while Parkway Center City is ranked 447th). Parkway West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
