The King's Academy Knights will face off against the Carlmont Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games King's Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
King's Academy took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Pioneer, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-1.

Ethan Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Taiyo Peterson looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Carlmont had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellarmine College Prep on Saturday, sneaking past 5-4.
The team relied heavily on Grant Goetz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pano Koutoulas, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Carlmont hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Carlmont's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Carlmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. King's Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Carlmont, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will King's Academy keep running through batters, or will the Scots buck the trend?
