Football Recap: Longview Comes Up Short

The matchup between Longview and North Forney on Friday hardly resembled the 21-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Lobos and the Falcons were almost perfectly matched up, but the Lobos suffered a 56-55 loss. The Lobos were up 21 in the second, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.

JOHNNY HAMILTON and JADEN HURNDON certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. HAMILTON threw for 373 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes, while HURNDON picked up 194 receiving yards and three touchdowns. HURNDON was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards. MASON WASHINGTON was in the mix too, providing Longview with two scores.

It was another big night for Legend Bey, who rushed for 243 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 127 yards and one touchdown for North Forney. Andikan Asuquo was another major influence, as he rushed for 132 yards and ran in a TD.

Longview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for North Forney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Longview has already played their next matchup, a 52-24 victory against Royse City on the 7th. As for North Forney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 63-39 win against Rockwall on the 7th.
