Monte Vista Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against North Monterey County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Condors at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Monte Vista Christian 2.7, North Monterey County 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Monte Vista Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Greenfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Mustangs never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Aidan Miller looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carter Wright was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerard Tershey, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
Monte Vista Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, North Monterey County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Stevenson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-3. The Condors haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
JT Islas and Tyler Baldwin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Islas scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Baldwin got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Islas has become a key player for North Monterey County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-6 otherwise. Brody Nelsen was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
North Monterey County's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Monte Vista Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Monte Vista Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like North Monterey County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
